Chicle...

At the stop of the red light and to the sound of "Dios me la bendiga", her face was shinning as if she had won the lottery when she saw a Q10 bill I gave her for 2 Chewing Gum blisters...

My mind started to fly as I kept on driving. What could this more than 40 year old lady buy with it? how many children does she have? is she being honest? is her face just an estrategy to sale? did she had Q290 and my 10 did the Q300?

By now i don't know, and maybe I'll never do, but I hope she's having a good dinner while I'm having a nice breath!

A sad one to Guate...

Lots of people injured, 7 deaths and an almost paralyzed city left the several violent attacks we have had during the past 2 days in Guatemala.

Now, the Government is saying that they already identified the responsible of the attacks, a man who's a member of "La Mara 18".

Ok, a marero, big deal... is that it? a marero? sorry but a city of 3 millions of citizens is a lot for one man to manipulate and a very few for a president to handle...which makes me think that the president is incapable to lead such a small country. Nothing new for latins, right?

What it really matters is that innocent people is dying while he's trying to lead us, like the 2 month-old baby this morning, the 85 year old man yesterday, the 42 year old lady the day before, etc. They're sons, fathers, mothers, brothers, husbands and wifes that'll never go home again...

"We have to calm down", "this is just bad people trying to make us feel psycotic and paranoic" said the President on a national message last night. Psycotic? paranoic? lots of us already feel like that every single day before leaving our homes."Say not to violence, say yes to life "... did he really mean it??...

And after this all that we can do is take care of ourselves and the ones we love, watch our backs out, lock our doors, say a pray, take a breath and start it all over again... But please, let's never shut our mouths!

The sound of a tasty pink number

It was a normal morning at he office back in 2006 when my partner and I started to talk about how amazing and powerful the brain is, and suddenly in the midle of our conversation he told me that he found very interesting people that could associate colors to letters and numbers, sounds to smells, and tastes to colors... "How come?" I said.

He started giving me examples; "Yeah like seeing certain numbers and words with specific colors, or to bring a taste back to your mouth by listening a sound or a word"...

His words were for me like finding out you're addopted... How come at my 24 years old I'd never realized it wasn't normal, all that came out from his mouth was so familiar and normal for me and so weird and amazing to him...

That day I knew what Synestesia is and as if it wasn't enough I found myself a Synaesthete... Has it changed my life? Not at all must admit, I just know my brain works different, is it helpful? mmm... well, as I know synesthetes tend to be creative and as a Graphic Designer I'd dare to say yes!

Curiously is hard for me to make those kind of emails they send where you have a red colored word and it reads "GREEN" also when a client ask me to crate a logo and by the name of the company I instantly get a color, the thing is that almost always they have their own color in mind then it gets a little harder for me to be crative...

You better think it twice before taking things for granted so you won't realize in the midle of a conversation, at your 24, you are special!

And in a brief my name is Melody, I'm a Synaesthete and today is a good day. ;)

Too much faith at the movies...

Watching Angels & Demons movie at the cinema, these 2 ladies to my right side were making comments about every single scene of the movie.

The interesting part came when in the movie, the camerlengo asks to Robert Langdon if he believes in God, and he answers: "God is about faith and faith is a gift I haven't been given".

Then one of the unstoppable ladies said " That is the most stupid conversation I've ever heard"...

I lost the next scene thinking on that intellectual proof of ignorance and I came to this conclusion: or she had this huge faithfulness, or hers was the most stupid conversation I've ever heard!

There's people that don't stay stuck on what they've been told.
